Textile Tuesdays: Calico Print Dress

Here is another example of a cotton dress made from a dark print. The fabric is a deep maroon with grey spots. It apparently comes from New England. The front vertical opening closure with drawstrings would be convenient to put on by yourself, and you would not have to worry about fully pinning up an apron front. (I always have to stick a ton of pins in mine to keep the apron from falling down.) I'd like to make a dress with this type of closure some time in the future.
